Digital Photo Format

When digital photos are specified and there will be no need for traditional photographic prints, each photo will include appropriate descriptive information in a narrow margin added to the bottom of the image, as shown in these samples:

horizontal digital sample

vertical digital sample

The photo identification info can be customized for each project, and typically contains:
• Project Name
• Contract or Project #
• General Contractor name
• Date the photo was made, which can be expanded to include the Time
• Filename
• Photographer's contact info
• other info as required

The proportions of digital photos reflect the "native" proportions (roughly 2:3) of the camera sensor + the added legend area. Digital images are not proportional to any standard photographic prints. That is, if you were to print a digital photo in this format it would either (a) not fill the page or (b) "overfill" the page, resulting in the loss of parts of the image.

If you intend to make traditional photographic prints you should chose the
Print Photo Format, which is proportional to 8x10.
