CONSTRUCTION PHOTOGRAPHY

Traditional Construction Documentation
I provide photos in a traditional manner, i.e. pre-construction, periodic and final photos, and video when required. Arrows oriented to the direction of view and numbered to correspond to each photo are recorded on modified drawings and submitted as Key Plans in PDF format. A margin is added to each photo to display the required ID information. My goal is to submit a set of photos at each site visit that clearly shows the state of construction.

Always sharp, clear photos
My methods produce consistently high-quality images regardless of conditions. Photos will be properly exposed and in sharp focus every time. Almost every photo is taken with a tripod and settings to produce blur-free images with maximum detail … no loss of detail in either overly-bright areas or dark recesses.

Experience pays off
Photography specs often contain a phrase that forbids any software manipulation of digital photos. This restriction unnecessarily limits the ability of a knowledgeable photographer to provide the highest quality photos. You can read my take on handling digital photos in this blog post. Please also read the details of my Standard Photo Submission.

the specs say:

Take photos that are in-focus and have maximum depth of field to clearly show the work. Photographs with blurry or out-of-focus areas will not be accepted . . .

I say:

no blurry, shallow-depth, poorly-exposed or out-of-focus photos will ever be submitted . . .
